Avoiding a Tattoo Blunder! Tattoo Mistakes
Having a tattoo is getting more and more common and as the number of tattoos rise so does the number of tattoo blunders. Genuine tattoo lovers are passionate about their body art, but there is no dearth of men and women who go in for a tattoo on their body on the spur of the moment only to regret it later.
One of the top tattoo designs that get removed by the individuals is the name of ex lover – damn isn’t that so obvious? When Angelina Jolie started going out with Brad Pitt she quickly changed the tattoo on her left arm from ‘Billy Bob’ to showing the map coordinates corresponding to the birthplaces of her children. These map coordinates cover the whole area on which the dragon tattoo with the name of ex husband Billy Bob used to be located, before she got most of the tattoo removed by lazer. But you can still see the dragon if you look closely.
It is very easy to feel that you have found the perfect man or woman in your life and that his or her name on your body part will serve as a proof of your eternal love from this earthly physical dimension and into the after-life for ever and ever amen etc. But then he gets boring, you drift apart, she hooks up with the broadband installer while you are working like a dog in your crummy office job and then all the love is gone. That person who meant so much to you now means so little, but yet they are still stuck written all over your forehead, or hopefully only you hand or chest and all you can think of now is the pain that you’re gonna have to endure to get it off and how embarrassing it is explaining the tattoo to your new beau.
Name of an ex lover is the most removed tattoo design.
Johnny Depp likewise had to hastily remove Winona Ryder’s name from his “Winona Forever” tattoo as soon as that relationship headed south – changing it to “Wino Forever”. It must be reassuring to basic common people like us that even these rich famous and talented celebs stuff up right royally with their tattoo choices, even after spending $1,000s on media savvy tattoo strategists and going to the best artists available.
One bad example is a chap named Jordan Cotton, a 21 year old who had his beau’s name tattooed rather conspicuously on the back of his neck. You guessed it, she dumped him and now the tattoo says S*it Happens! If anyone tattooed my name on the back of their neck in this size text then I’d be dumping them too – as there are enough micro-brained individuals roaming the planet in perma-zombie mode as it is, and no need for me to have one as a partner.
Name tattoos are considered – the worst – by tattoo clinics, and only the most dodgy tattoo parlor will ever allow this sort of tattoo. They remind the individual about a relationship that has failed. Despite this fact, men and women around the world are not ready to listen to any advice and they continue to have the name of the lover written over their body parts. Because of this fad there has been a great increase in the number of clinics that provide specialist tattoo removal services. Many entrepreneurs have become multi millionaires or even billionaires in the ex lover tattoo removal business.
Another tattoo blunder is going to a tattoo artist who is either very very old and shaky, or partially sighted, or is still learning the trade. The result is tattoos that look like these.
Seriously, is that the Joker? He is missing one eyebrow and has green ink on the chin. This is the worst The Joker tattoo I have ever seen.
Zombie Panda tattoo – very original.
To be fair to this guy, he got this tattoo when he was 11 and it wasn’t as bad then, everyone in his class at primary school thought it was pretty cool to have a shark tattoo and especially a massively thirsty shark considering the beer and horn he is sprouting.
Understood to be a favorite tattoo choice for ex president of the USA George W Bush combining his love of Ham and Tanks – genius!.
Want to know the second most commonly removed tattoo? Well its a monumental blunder of gobsmacking epic goliath Godzilla proportions… drum roll please … ladies and gentle-funk it’s the tattoo in a foreign language (which you aren’t fluent in) category … and no English doesn’t count as a foreign language for Americans and Canadians even though it is from England. We are talking about tattoos in the Chinese script (Kan-gi ?) or Arabic, Sanskrit, Hebrew, Alaskan etc.
Often the tattoo artist makes a spelling mistake, or the tattoo artist has an evil streak and the result is a familiar one; the owner of the tattoo has to go in for painful lazer removal like the lazer-brain they probably are. What’s worse is the foreign language text is often chosen while on holiday as a tourist. Now if you go along to a tattoo artist chap while on holiday in Bali and ask him for some Chinese script then what do you expect. For a start, he doesn’t speak Chinese, and second, you are never going to see that guy again – what’s his incentive to get it right? Very little. And are you going to return to him for a refund? Well its very unlikely because the airfare is 150 x the price of the tattoo and he was a pretty big and scary looking dude anyway and smelt pretty bad.
It goes both ways too, Chinese people have been known to get some pretty random English words tattooed on their foreheads. The word ‘Microwave’ was a very common tattoo option in the late 1990’s as Chinese believed this meant ‘top fashion friendship make romance’, however it did not, it just meant Microwave.
As usual we recommend a temporary tattoo that can be worn for a week or so before it comes off. What’s even better is that if you buy it from Amazon and find out that the Arabic tattoo text spells ‘Camel Balls’, then you can return the product for a refund! and absolutely no need for painful lazer removal… is this genius? Also, check out these before and after pics.
Before committing to a tattoo that you think’s gunna have some appeal, it makes sense to try some designs out. Temporary tattoos are getting way better than they used to be, and some can last for up to a week.
